Our mission is to support the education and development of all young people through physical education and sport. We are a registered charity founded in 1994 with Government and corporate sponsors, promoting the vital role that PE and school sport can play in improving the lives and futures of young people. Getting involved with the Youth Sport Trust batton being passed from hand to hand

If like us you believe in the power of sport to improve the lives of young people, then there are many ways in which you can become involved.


Parents and grandparents with young children can start their children on the pathway with our TOP Tots package. A rucksack packed with bright, fun equipment complements a series of ideas cards to help organise individual and team games.

Primary Schools in England each have a Primary Link Teacher (PLT) who fits into the national network of sporting excellence. For the first time resources are available to purchase directly from the Youth Sport Trust to back up those currently in use in your PE lessons.

Each Secondary School in England similarly has a dedicated named person - the School Sport Coordinator (SSCo) who is in contact with Primary Link Teachers and the Partnership Development Manager for their network.

Businesses who interact with the PE sector and wider education market are welcome to share experience and best practice with the Youth Sport Trust. We have a pathway of involvement from exhibitors at our conferences right through to our corporate partners (includng Sky, Sainsbury's and Norwich Union). Our programmes have been developed in conjunction with a wide range of partners, with the aim of delivering high quality PE and sport to all young people, regardless of ability.
