TOP Sport Striking and Fielding Games has been designed to give children an introduction to the skills needed for the games of baseball, cricket, rounders and softball. The activities offer a range of striking and fielding game skills in an enjoyable game format. The cards cover the following areas:
- Catch, Catch them out – Throwing and fielding skills
- Target throw – Accuracy in throwing
- Quick runs and safe catching – Running with a bat and catching under pressure
- Get them out – Running with a bat and intercepting in fielding
- Target bowling – Learning to bowl and developing accuracy
- There and back – Running with a bat and developing accuracy in bowling under pressure
- Chain gang – A rounders and softball type game with additional catching skills
- Strike – A target striking game with fielders
- Run and return – A small sided game with an emphasis on decision making
As with all TOP resources the cards contain activities for all children including young disabled people.
