What does it take to become the best?
A new book arising out of first ever National Talent Orientation Camp held in January 2007. The camp was inspired by London’s hosting of the Olympic and Paralympic Games and was funded by the DCSF as part of the Gifted and Talented strand of the PE, School Sport and Club Links Strategy. It offered talented young people the opportunity to learn from Olympic role models and created a unique environment for them to reflect on their own long term sporting and academic pathways and begin to plan for the key educational, sporting and life decisions that lay ahead of them.
Introduced by Jonny Wilkinson and containing quotes from numerous Olympians and World Champions, the booklet offers a unique insight into the world of elite sport written in the words of athletes who have pursued their dreams and travelled some incredible journeys. Given the quality of information we were able to gather from such a wide range of performance athletes, we hope you will find it useful to have copies to share with your gifted and talented young people.
